Future Development at X5

Date 06 Aug, 2008 | Category Announcement

X5 is currently under development proposal to upgrade X5 Bid Remaining items and bring it to the extend of time auction. It has come to great comments by some users, to convert Bid Remaining items after 30 days or  60 days on BID REMAINING to Timed Auctions if the Bid Remaining did not reach.

X5 would like to hear what your say about this. For example Bid Remaining  with 500 bids, if the auction has been running for 30 days or 60 or 90 days, or  3 months or 6 months, it will be converted automatically to timed auction with the auction start to run at 30 days time.

X5 keep developing and listening to your say. Your say is the most important part of X5 development. ET has come to a great success and X5 has been overwhelming with so many X5 Members Support. Since first day, we always want to listen to your say.

We appreciate your support via commenting to above pool.

Ps. At the moment, X5 has few more R&D project is undertaking. We will reveal in near future.

Happy Online Shopping where the unique lowest bid win

If you are waiting for an item action to finish and say waiting for 60 and after a certain time ie 7 days turn it into a timed action of three days as the wait when win is very stressfull.

It would be great if Bid remaining auctions transfered to time remaining auctions, it seems like I've been waiting forever for an outcome on some of the bid auctions, win or lose.

Definitely a good idea! The shorter the better! I think people will be more inclined to bid knowing they don't have to wait for unknown or lengthy times to find out if they have won/loss. I also think this needs to be highlighted on the actual items bidding page, so members understand.

I agree with some of the statements above as I have been waiting for some 'bids remaining' items for as long as I have been a member! (since April if memory serves me correctly) I think there should be a time limit, at the very most it should only be 30 - 40 days, but I think that the idea of turning it into a timed auction after that, is unfair on the people who have been patiently waiting all this time, only to have the prize snatched out from underneath them at the last minute. It should be awarded to the person who has the lowest bid at the time. OK, I will get off my soapbox now and wish you all the luck for the future. Cheers Susy

I am not keen on the bid remaining auctions,to long to wait.

6. Giang Phi (07 Sep, 2008 - 11:27)

Yes, thats a great idea. Waiting for the auction to end is too long and many people will opt to bid on auctions with remaining time instead.

7. Natalie Dawson (10 Sep, 2008 - 21:53)

I think is a great idea to have the timed auctions. I would prefer to bid on something within maybe the week and preferebly with only a day or two left. I dont like waiting around, too much suspense in that!

In my opinion a definite time should be allotted for the action of a particular item so that people do not have to wait for a long time for auction ceremony. -------------------- Taylor

Could we have a section connected to each persons id of Watched Item list?

HYBRID SYSTEM is a good idea as with some of the ones with heaps of remaining bids it could have been 6 months or more before the bids all were made. I don't bid on a number of bids auction for the reason that who knows if it will ever get all bidded.

The watermark thing that you want to bring in, only have it at Login please and not for each and every bid as you'll lose customers if it's needed for every bid. Also, when you bring in the watermark don't make it too hard as after all I'm almost 50 and I don't have the eyes of a 20 year old with no eye problems. With some sites they really go overboard with all sorts of colours and squirly bits making it a nuisance as it takes several attempts for me to get it right. Maybe a Maths question at login only, for example 2 + 2 with the answer of course being 4 instead of us trying to decipher some weird looking word or sequence of letters/numbers.
